Exclusive Interview with P•Hýphα˚ - "Nigeria's Phuture"

Q.) So tell us, how did your music career begin and what inspired you?

A.) i started writing poetry when i was 12. My mum had just died and i had a lot of anger bottled up inside and writing provided an avenue for self-expressionism. The music aspect took me by surprise a few years ago and i gradually started inculcating my poetry in my music and i've never looked back ever since.

Q.) You mentioned something earlier about being an "Indie-Artiste", could you elaborate on that?

A.) Sure! Indie-Artiste is a 'nickname' for INDEPENDENT ARTISTE. It's a genre of music that's growing fast globally. It has to do with singers, painters and basically craftsmen who have no outside sponsor(s) or financial backup from anyone. Am an Indie-Artiste because am neither under any record label or management. I don't have to wait around for permission before i can do my thing. its tough but its fun and definitely worth it.

Q.) I listened to your new #HitSingle - "IDGI" featuring Ty Magic. Am sure your fans are eager to know as well as I am how this song came to being and who are the ladies you refer to in this EPIC love story?

A.) Well, "IDGI" meaning "I Don't Get It" was a song inspired by my derailed love-life. I wrote this song on my Annual vacation in Akwa Ibom State during this last christmas holidays. The "ladies" i refer to are two beautiful muses (the source of inspiration that stimulates an artiste, especially a poet). They represent my past and my Phuture.

Q.) So they're figments of your imagination?

A.) No! They're a big part of my life. Always have been. To everybody else, the song is a poetic enigma. To the two of them, its a Dossier of an encrypted nature.

Q.) So are you in a relationship at the moment?

A.) No!

Q.) Why? I mean a young prominent lad like yourself?? When was your last relationship and how long did it last?

A.) My last relationship ended over a year ago and it lasted for more than two years.

Q.) Ok! Back to your music, you released your first album compilation (mixtape) on your birthday last year and you're working on releasing the second one on your birthday this year? Can you confirm this please?

A.) Certainly. My first mixtape is titled "I DID IT FOR #HipHop -The LP"  and is basically my foundation in the music industry. It portrays my growth as a recording artiste and as an individual. Its an Eight track mixtape and will be released on hard copy a couple of years from now. Right now, am working on my second project titled "Memoirs Of a King" which will be out on my birthday, September 27th, 2012. Its a compilation that's going to surpass the expectations of my rapidly growing fanbase & the world alike.

Q.) How's it going considering you're an Indie-Artiste?

A.) So far, its going great. I Started recording fresh songs this year and i'll be shooting my first music video in February so all-in-all, I owe everything to GOD.

Q.) I really wish you well Hýphα˚. I read through your bio and noticed you share the same birth-days with some great people of our time. For example, Bishop David Oyedepo, Lil' Wayne and your late father. How does it feel to be ranked with such an elite group?

A.) My Dad always said i was special but i never really understood what he meant until he died a few years ago. My Mum always said that I was her birthday present to my Father and that's really special to me considering they're both in Heaven. Its great sharing such a symbolic day with great men like Bishop Oyedepo and Lil' Wayne. I've always had a connection with these trendsetters and am thrilled to have been born on the same day as they were.

Q.)For those who aren't acquainted with you or your music, how would you describe yourself to them?

A.) Well, to be sincere, I am an Enigma! A riddle in a puzzle left only for the adventurous to solve. I am the euphemism for my Society's Ill Nature. My music speaks beyond me. It speaks volumes of life, spirituality and the consequences of our choices. I am a light set upon the hills. I Am P•Hýpha° King of the Mo'adib and Hybrid of the Mujahideen. I bet they'd be more confused after reading that.

Q.) Wow! I like the fact that the more i try to understand you, the more am drawn by your aura and poise. Tell us where we can listen to your songs online because am sure everyone willl be itching to hear what you have to offer?

A.) Visit - www.reverbnation.com/hypha - Its easier to follow my music via that artiste page. Video uploads and Exclusive singles + my show schedules are always posted up there before any other website gets it.

Q.) Its been great featuring you on my Blog and I do hope you find happiness in your love life because am certain that Mrs. Right is somewhere out there, waiting on you.

A.) *laughs* it was great being here and I do hope I find love, even if its in a hopeless place. Thank You!
