KIM KARDASHIAN REVEALS HER MUM PUT HER ON BIRTH CONTROL WHEN SHE WAS 14 YEARS OLD.

Famous talk show host  Oprah Winfrey best known for her self-titled, multi-award-winning talk show, which has become the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011 got all close and personal with the Kardashian’s.  During the family interview, a lot of personal details you didn’t know about the Kardashian clan was reveal, among the nitty gritty details dished out on set, the one which really set the mood for me to sit and critically put up this write up was when Kim revealed her mother Kris put her on a pill while she was 15!!! *sweatsprofusely* .

Kim Kardashian in the first of a two-part interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter, said she was “almost 15″ when her mother Kris Jenner got her on birth control.

Kim said the parenting decision came as a result of her desire to explore her sexuality with her boyfriend, a family friend.

“When I did want to have sex the first time I was almost 15,” Kim said, adding her liberal mom was open to discussion about the topic, and even got her on birth control.

She continued: “I was like, ‘I think I’m going to, or I want to,’ and she was like, ‘OK, so this is what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna put you on birth control,’ and she was like, really open and honest with me.”

The revelation came as a surprise to the veteran journalist Oprah, who said, “Wow,” before moving onto the next question.

We Africans could be quite judgemental when it comes to sensitive issues like this, but i choose not to criticize but rather look at the motive behind the act, because as far as i am concerned, if the motive behind the act was positive and  for her own good then you cannot boldly lay claims that Kris was wrong for doing this. Let’s not forget she is a teenager and at this age, they love to explore, love to take adventures and it is almost impossible to cut their wings at this age, if there is one thing is respect Kim for is that at such age, she was able to open up on a topic that most teenagers dread having with her parents. The young lad (Kim) did a very brave thing by discussing her intentions with her mum and Kris in turn did what she taught was appropriate by providing her with birth control. Only God knows what it would have resulted in engaging in sex without proper knowledge, she could have gotten pregnant or probably have an STD, she could be stuck with a child she is not proud of for the rest of her life and probably the lucky champ who took away her innocence will run away or deny responsibility of the child.we all know the stigma attached with teenage pregnancy, she could have tried having an abortion and probably lost her life in the process or damaged her womb, it is just luck, some people do it and get away without it any complications

Let’s be realistic, nowadays parents are so carried away with career or business, that they ignore their kids when they need them the most, we are not there 24/7 with the children, we do not watch them grow, we do not monitor their activities, we find it challenging to discuss sex with our kids, we have no idea what they spend their time doing on the internet and what they pollute their young minds with; take for instance the video that went viral of a little girl having sex with a 3 year old!!! Lets face it, more than 75% of teenagers today are sexually active.  Pheeeeeewwwww..... i know about 95% of readers will not agree with my stance on this topic, but i want to make this more interactive, please kindly share your views on the comment thread below.

Is it cool for a mother to discuss sex with her 15 years old daughter and also provide support when the child decides too?
